Chapter 10-That's life.

This past week, I've been at Roncalli working our the 2012-2013 showchoir show. One of the songs that we're doing is called "That's life". A jazzy remake by Michael Buble, the song simply says life will bring what it brings and you've got to roll with the bunches. Live with what you're given and never take it for granted...because lets be honest...how much more time do we really have here?

  1. Although you did not state this in your blog, I believe that the phrase "that's life" is very evident throughout Slaughterhouse-Five. In life, everyone has ups and downs; there's no way to prevent that. Billy experiences many ups and downs throughout this novel. He gets to chance to travel to Tralfamador, spend time with a famous actress, make it through the war alive, and meet many life-long friends. These are a few of the many great experiences Billy had in the novel. On the contrary, he had many terrible experiences as well. For example, his wife and many friends died, he watched the bombing of Dresden, and he was a prisoner of war. This just goes to show how well this phrase really describes the novel, Slaughterhouse-Five.

  2. First of all, David, that was probably the deepest post I've read from my fellow peers. Secondly, I never thought of it in that fashion. In a way, this book is a great way to look at life. It is a book that is deranged, weird, nonsensical, and generally messed up, just like life.
