Chapter 10-That's life.
Chapter 10- And so it goes
The end. It's here. In chapter 10, the book changes point of view from Billy's to Vonnegut's. In the end, they both find there way back to Dresden. As Vonnegut would say "so it goes"(Vonnegut 214). Many of the characters throughout were lost in time. It was the way of life. The circle never ends and Vonnegut surely showed that throughout the book. I enjoyed reading it this summer. Now for school....wahoo.
Chapter 9-Scared to die.
Dying is one of my greatest fears. I'm sure that many others experience this fear as well, but it really gets to me sometimes. I don't want to die anytime soon and I hate it when someone close to me dies or has a death in there family. The feeling of being left alone or leaving someone is the real kicker in this situation. Every person deserves a companion and death is strippin that away. Am I saying I want to live forever...no. I just don't like the thought of leaving people thats all.
Chapter 9-Why must the good die?
Holy crap! I did not see the death of Billy's wife coming. That was just madness and I was not a fan. Billy has a lot stuff going on in his life with time travleing and all, but losing his wife, while unconsious AND time traveling! What are you trying to do Vonnegut!? This whole book is full of allusions to many things in history but one that stood out to me was that"an atomic bomb had been dropped on Hiroshima" (185). That was such a primary part in winning the war that whenever it is mentioned, it is known right off the bat. Vonnegut is getting guttsy...
Chapter 8-Doomed.
When I read about Debry being doomed, it made me think of the times in life when you're down and you can't help but feel the world is ending. Then I thought of a song that I sometimes listen to when I need to get away from my worries. The song is called Flight and all it's really saying let me be free while I can. Save the worries for another day. I love this song and I would love to perform it one day.
Chapter 8-What's gonna happen next
Through out chapter 8, foreshadowing a major role...about as major as Billy is to the story. Foreshwadoing gives the reader a little insight to what might happen next. In chapter 8, Debry is labled "the doomed high school teacher" (Vonnegut 164). Through the story, Debry's death has been mentioned and foreshadowed almost every moment possible. I really can't put my finger on wheather his death will be big and slow or just boring and fast. I guess we'll find out soon!
Chapter 7-Theatre.
Now when I think exaggerations and drama my mind finds its way to...theatre of course. If any of you know me, I live for the stage. Everything I do is for the stage and drama itself. I feel like this book is a major drama and if if was to be made into a play, I might just audition. haha. Anyway, life on the stage can get rough, just like the life of time traveler.
