Chapter 1 (Connection)
Throughout chapter one, Vonegut begins to confront his past and accept what the future holds. He realizes that war will happen and there is no changing that sad fact. The realization that somethings in life cannot be stopped brings me to a recent experience with one of my close friends. We had both been busy for the past few months and it seemed that we had been drifting apart. Relationships end: it's yet another sad fact of life. Realizing that war, like a realtionship coming to an end, will happen is a major theme that Vonegut is beginning to shed light on.
